For you lovely folk that visit Everything Begins often you would know that we have a brilliant range of typographic maps.  Swiss Born, British based Ursula Hitz is, as far as we're concerned the Queen of Type Maps.  We're pretty sure if you take a look at her range of typographic maps you'll see just what we mean.  Ursula's range of typographic maps include the best selling London Type Maps & New York Type Maps, in addition to type maps of San Francisco, Rome, Paris, Berlin & Zurich.

The London Type Map has always been one of our bestsellers, so a few months back we asked Ursula what she thought about doing a neon type map.  We're a little bit fixated over here as you would know from the recent exclusive range of neon accessories we created in collaboration with Italian design studio, House of Kami.  And alas, Ursula was game.

So, here she is, the brand spanking new London Type Map.  This typographic map is a limited edition of 100, so if you want one, you'd better get in quick sticks.  Speaking of which, somebody pass ME the credit card.  Now.

Ursula loves becoming fixated on the intricacies of place names, before taking a step back and seeing a bigger structure evolve. Unlike regular maps, Ursula's typographic maps don’t focus on streets or buildings. Instead, her type maps build an organic texture of words that grow from the centre – in the way that most cities have grown.

Look closely at the London type map and you will see many of your favourite places.  This new typographic map edition also names Primrose Hill, Belsize Park, Chalk Farm in the North, Walworth, Camberwell and Bermondsey South of the River, Canonbury, Dalston, Whitechapel, Shadwell, Bethnal Green, Mile End and Victoria Park in the East.

Each typographic map print is hand screen printed on archival printmaking paper. Texture, deckle edge and vibrancy of colours convey an air of heritage while the character comes from slight inconsistencies in the ink levels.

The london typographic map print is a sizeable 56cm x 76cm.  As with all art prints the type map will look at it's best in a bespoke frame but also looks great in a standard 60 x 80cm frame for an affordable option.
